It’s no surprise that Sarasota has been dubbed the “Cultural Coast.” Ever since John and Mabel Ringling brought their passion for the arts to their beloved city, the rich and diverse cultural offerings have continued to grow and thrive. The city is home to critically-acclaimed performing arts organizations, including the Sarasota Ballet, Sarasota Orchestra, and Sarasota Opera, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and several beloved local theatres. There are magnificent museums like the Ringling Museum of Art and other cultural attractions, the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and the Mote Marine Aquarium. It is often said that Sarasota’s art scene rivals that of much larger metropolises.
